SUMMER CAMP at ABIDING PRESENCE LUTHERAN CHURCH
9 Weeks of Endless Summer Fun for ALL Ages
Summer camp allows allows kids and teens to engage in age-appropriate experiences that are hands on, tons of fun and form faith through activities kids and teens want to do.
All camps except Musical Theater Camp are outdoors with the ability to come inside when it makes sense for activities or the weather makes the outdoors less than enjoyable.
Full and partial scholarships are available for all camps thanks to our Campership Fund. Reach out to our summer camp team to discuss a scholarship. You can also choose to make a tax deductable donation to our Campership Fund.
Camp fees are due at the time of registration. If you need to reschedule a week of camp, you can move to another week (space permitting). Refunds of 50% (minus processing fees) will be given for cancellations prior to 30 days before the start of camp.
We’re a church, so our summer camps are religious. We believe God’s love is wide and inclusive of all people. Whoever you are, whatever your background, you will be welcome at camp.

Preschool Camps
Preschool camps are open to children age 3 by the first day of camp through rising kindergarteners. Children should be potty trained before the start of camp, which is to say, we understand accidents happen but our staff isn’t able to change diapers/pullups.
Bible Royalty Camp
Our preschool summer camps are filled with tons summer fun including games, arts & crafts, science experiments, Bible lessons, snack, water play and more! This summer we will kick things off with our favorite Bible Royalty from Esther to Kind David.
NOTE: This week runs Tuesday - Friday due to the Memorial Day holiday.
Under the Sea Camp
Our preschool summer camps are filled with tons summer fun including games, arts & crafts, science experiments, Bible lessons, snack, water play and more! This week we will take a deep dive under the sea and explore some exciting stories all about water.
Grace Pirates Camp
Our preschool summer camps are filled with tons summer fun including games, arts & crafts, science experiments, Bible lessons, snack, water play and more! This week we will take on the high seas as Grace Pirates searching high and low for treasures more valuable than gold.
Elementary Camps (Kindergarten - 5th Grade in Fall 2025)
Yellow Brick Road Camp
Our elementary summer camps are filled with tons summer fun including games, arts & crafts, science experiments, Bible lessons, snack, water play and more! This summer we will kick things off learning about where to get a brain, a heart and courage while following the Yellow Brick Road.
Clue Camp
Our elementary summer camps are filled with tons summer fun including games, arts & crafts, science experiments, Bible lessons, snack, water play and more! This week we will learn about who Jesus is while we solve the mystery of the disappearing love at Clue Camp.
Animal Planet Camp
Our elementary summer camps are filled with tons summer fun including games, arts & crafts, science experiments, Bible lessons, snack, water play and more! This week we will roar like lions while we take on some of the biggest animals at Animal Planet Camp.
Radical Rebels Camp
Our elementary summer camps are filled with tons summer fun including games, arts & crafts, science experiments, Bible lessons, snack, water play and more! This week we will learn about some incredible Radical Rebels who stood up for God through stories, games and more.
Cereal Camp
Our elementary summer camps are filled with tons summer fun including games, arts & crafts, science experiments, Bible lessons, snack, water play and more! This week we will end the summer with the most important meal of the day while we learn about how cereal can teach us a thing or two about God.
6th Grade Juniors Camp (6th Grade in Fall 2025)
Rising sixth graders get to be part of our Juniors Camp program that allows them the chance to be big kid leaders who serve in various ways alongside our counselors-in-training and summer staff while still getting the fun of being campers, too.
Juniors are invited to sign up for up to TWO weeks of camp throughout the summer.
Juniors will be provided with shirts that they can wear every day of camp (or wear red).

Cereal Camp

Teen Camps
Open to 6th-12th grade in Fall 2025
We’re putting on a production of SEUSSICAL…and we’re rehearsing and performing it in only ONE WEEK! Our performance (required) is on Friday, June 20 at 4:00 p.m. The camp and performance will take place at Abiding Presence.
Musical Theater Camp is in partnership with Temple B’nai Shalom. It is an interfaith camp that seeks to build relationships among young people from a variety of backgrounds.
Open to 8th-12th grade in Fall 2025
Amazing Race Camp is a week long experience racing through Washington D.C based off the hit TV show. Each day centers around a service project or faith formation adventure across the city. Drop off and pick up is from the Springfield Metro Station each day. Campers will need to provide their own metro card and lunch.
Open to 7th grade in Fall 2025
Join us for an adventure based camp where we’ll travel throughout the community for service, outdoor adventures and more! Drop off and pick up will be be from Abiding Presence each day. We will the travel in vans or by foot to various locations to learn and serve. Campers will need to provide their own lunch.
Counselor-In-Training (7th-9th Grade in Fall 2025)
Join us for a week of leadership and development and fun! We hope this experience gives our rising 7-9th graders a taste of what it looks like to be an Abiding Fellow (our program for 10th-12th graders) and build excitement for future opportunities. CITs will gather for morning devotions and training, eat lunch together, and then accompany camper groups to their stations during camp hours. After campers leave for the day CITs will join the rest of the staff for a daily debrief.
CITs are invited to sign up for the program for ONE week of camp throughout the summer.
As registrations come in, who will be joining us which week will be posted here (first name, last initial only) so that you can coordinate with other families.
CITs will be provided with staff shirts that need to be worn every day and they will need to pack a lunch.
The CIT Program is something we are offering for our Abiding Presence students as part of our Confirmation program. Friends are always welcome to join us in our Confirmation program. Campership Fund Donation
The Abiding Campership Fund ensures that every child or teen who wants to go to camp is able to do so. We provide full and partial scholarships to those in need. Your gift to the Campership Fund is tax deductible and shares the gift of camp.
