This group is for families who have members whose brains  navigate the world a little differently. We walk with each other in navigating the joys and challenges of supporting our loved ones (and, sometimes ourselves) with diagnoses that include ADHD, autism, dyslexia and other disabilities. We also support the church in continuing to be a welcoming community to neurodiverse families.

Thursday, November 13 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Join us for a traditional Thanksgiving lunch and a presentation of a Thanksgiving-themed dramatic reading of poems and prose. Come enjoy a delicious homemade lunch and be inspired by the giving and thankful spirit of this time of year. RSVP with an emailor a phone call to the church at 703-455-7500.

Sing, Play, Move, and Pray with Ms. Nicole and Dr. Dave on Tuesdays! Abiding Kids Music is for Preschool-2nd grade students and 3rd-5th grade students. If you have questions, please reach out to our Music & Worship Minister, Dr. Dave.

We are asking for a suggested donation of $5/student to help cover the cost of the pizza. You can donate for the whole semester or one week at a time here.

Adult Choir rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., September through June; we also have just-show-up-and-sing choir singing opportunities from time to time (stay tuned to the weekly e-news). Our choir sings repertoire of all eras, from early music to new commissions. As worship leaders during the Sunday morning traditional service and various special services, the choir is integral to supporting congregational participation in worship. If you love to sing, this is a great way to be involved!

Sunday, January 25 10:00a.m.

Join us for a fun game of Youth BINGO during the Congregation’s Annual Meeting. While the congregation makes decisions about the business of the church, Youth will be seated with Pastor Kelsey and listening for words and phrases that come up on their cards. When you get a BINGO you get to yell it out loud! They’ll learn about how the church operates and what it means to be a voting member of Abiding Presence. Annual Meeting

Sunday, January 25 at 10:00 a.m.

The annual meeting agenda will include a vote on the 2026 budget proposal, a “State of the Church” report from Pastor Keseley, election of church council members and updates to the church constitution.

Cafe Sessions will be held on Sundays, January 11 and 18 during the Abiding Table at 10:05 a.m. to discuss items on the agenda.

Carpooling will leave from Abiding Presence @ 9:15 a.m.

Our ride at Snowriders begins at 11:00a.m.

Schools out for FCPS and we are taking advantage for a fun day of snow tubing with Abiding Presence! We hope you’ll join us for a fun time in the snow for all ages.

6th-12th grade students can attend with Pastor Kelsey. All kids 5th grade and under must be accompanied by an adult. Additionally, all guests must meet the height requirement of 36” tall. If between 36″-42″, you MUST go tandem with a guardian each in your own tube. Guests over 42″ tall can tube in their own lane. Adults planning to ride will also need to purchase a ticket below

We are looking for drivers/chaperones for students in grades 6-12. If you’re available to drive and chaperone that day, please indicate that on the form below!

The cost for snow tubing is $36/person which includes your ride ticket, fire pits, s’mores, hotdogs and a full day of fun! Register by adding the item below to your cart for each participant, fill out the form, and check out. Registration will close January 19.

Scout Sunday on February 8 at 9:00 a.m.

Abiding Presence will be participating in Scout Sunday again this year. Scouts from all types of Scouting (Girl Scouts, Scouting America, etc.) are invited to come to worship in uniform. We will have a special blessing during the service for our scouts. Scouts in uniform will receive a Scout Sunday patch. Scouts should arrive at 8:40 a.m. to assist with ushering. Amazing Race DAY 7th-12th grade
February 17, 9:00a.m.-4:00p.m.
We're bringing the Amazing Race Camp we all know and love to the school year! On select days that FCPS has off of school, Pastor Kelsey and our youth will head into DC for adventures in service, learning, teamwork and exploring! Just like over the summer, students will meet Pastor Kelsey at the Franconia Springfield Metro at 9:00a.m. and return as close to 4:00p.m. as possible. Students will need to carry their own metro card and their packed lunch. Everyone will be on a team that figures out clues, navigates to destinations, and looks at a bible story together. Parent chaperones will be needed to make this a success. Registration is here.
